Founded in 2020 in Almaty, Jolda Dance Theatre is one of the most vibrant and experimental independent theatres in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
The company focuses on creating original performances while exploring and promoting physical theatre and contemporary dance in the region. Jolda is an auteur theatre — sincere, metaphysical, and uncompromisingly honest in its artistic language.
In addition to stage productions, Jolda runs open dance laboratories offering a space for creative exchange, research, and movement exploration and welcoming participants from all backgrounds.
